The Opportunity

Are you ready to take the lead in a role that truly makes a difference? We’re seeking a passionate Works Supervisor - Unsealed to oversee and enhance our unsealed road maintenance and construction programs. This is a fantastic chance for an experienced professional to drive excellence in road maintenance while contributing to the growth and upkeep of our local infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Plan, implement, monitor, and review unsealed road maintenance programs. Assist with delivering related capital works and maintenance projects.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support maintenance teams and contractors, providing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute to strategic planning, budget consolidation, and council plans.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all works meet relevant standards, including the Council's Road Management Plan.
  • Cost Management: Prepare cost estimates, monitor budgets, and report on financial status.
  • Safety & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments, develop Safe Operating Procedures, and ensure adherence to OH&S requirements.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage time sheets, purchase orders, and invoices, in line with Council policies.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant trade qualification or substantial industry experience.
  • Expertise in unsealed road maintenance works and project management.
  • Proficiency with road maintenance plant and machinery.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in budget reporting and administrative duties.
  • Competency in interpreting construction plans and using survey instruments.
  • Valid driver’s license for a manual vehicle.
