The Operations Department is responsible for providing a range of services to Council including the collection of waste and recyclable materials from within the municipality, waste management policy and waste education, the operation of the Banyule Waste Recovery Centre, mechanical sweeping of roads and footpaths, inspection, cleaning and maintenance of pits and drains, management of water harvesting and water sensitive urban design facilities, clearance of litter bins from shopping centres, cleaning of Council’s toilet blocks and barbeques, the management of Council's plant and Fleet and maintenance of Council infrastructure that includes roads, footpaths, shared trails, signs and street furniture. |
