North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

The role 

We are currently seeking a dynamic Transactions Services Lead to join our supportive Financial Services Department. In this newly created position, you will be at the forefront of our financial operations, overseeing Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and Banking functions. Your expertise will ensure the seamless processing of financial transactions and the maintenance of robust financial controls to support the overall financial health of the organisation.

Working as part of a fast-paced environment, you will have responsibilities to:

  • Oversee the operation of Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and Banking functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services in line with the Council’s service level agreements.
  • Implement and monitor financial controls to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Salary Range: $87,273 to $104,209 per annum + $1,000 pa transport allowances + 11.5% superannuation 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time
