About the Opportunity

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Council’s waste facilities. The role includes recording and entry of data for waste entering disposal sites, heavy equipment operation, directing customers using the sites to the appropriate location for drop off and processing wastes, recovering resources from the waste stream and ensuring the site is maintained in a fit for purpose state, is kept clean and tidy and complies with safety requirements.

What you need to be successful:

Mandatory

  • Current Driver’s Licence
  • National Police Check
  • Pre-employment Medical
  • WHS White Card

Desirable

  • Experience in operating a Waste Facility or Customer Service setting
  • Conflict resolution and negotiation skills and experience
  • Experience operating Plant and Equipment
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Plant competency certificates in operating a compactor, articulated haul truck, loader & excavator
