Junior Project Officer

You will oversee the planning and delivery of minor infrastructure projects and specialised subprojects, in line with schedule, quality and budget constraints and the City Project Management Framework, while providing support to Infrastructure Project Delivery team. You will complete procurement and contract documentation and communicate with tenderers while assisting with stakeholder communication strategies.  You will be called on to develop project scopes and review specifications, drawings and contracts, and undertake research and investigate new technology, products and systems to ensure that projects delivery increased service and financial benefits.

You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated background in consultation, solid experience in coordinating contractors and working programs with the ability to produce high quality reports, scopes and contracts.  Your ability to apply strong budgeting skills to your projects is essential.  The role requires a minimum one year experience in managing and administrating contracts and project management within Local Government, is preferable.  It is essential that you have a tertiary qualification in project management, construction or a relevant field.

• Demonstrated understanding of construction projects and contracts
• Excellent organisational, analytical, problem solving, decision making and time management skills
• Experience with financial management covering budgeting, cost control and reporting
• Experience in managing stakeholders contractors and tradespersons
• Strong written and interpersonal skills, particularly verbal communication
• Diploma or trade qualification in project management, construction, engineering, finance or trades field
• Current Australian ‘C’ class driver’s licence

This position offers a gross salary of $87,585 per annum, and:

• 11.5% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%
