Team Leader Construction Water Sewer

The primary purpose of the role is to lead a team to provide a high level of service in the maintenance, construction and repair of water, sewer and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

• Diagnose issues, maintain and repair Council’s water and sewer infrastructure, including pump stations and mains to ensure effective operations
• Utilise systems and software available to diagnose and troubleshoot problems for process improvements
• Complete required documentation for all works, ensuring compliance with requirements, legislation and obligations
• Maintain effective and timely communication with your supervisor, team and other colleagues or members of the public to ensure safe completion of quality outcomes within set timeframes, maintaining a customer service attitude at all times
• Champion a safety culture within the team to ensure a safe work place for our people by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of capital and maintenance works
• Support the coordination of works including calculating quantities and arranging support from specialised services as required
• Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner

About You 

We are looking for a motivated leader to join our Water Sewer team in Evans Head. You are -

• An individual with a safety-first focus and is proactive with safety issues and initiatives
• Someone who is flexible, adaptable and responsive to change
• A strong communicator with the ability to train and mentor a team

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

• Certificate III Plumber or Fitter or equivalent and experience in a related environment
• Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
• Class MR Driver Licence
• Approved Certificate for Confined Space operations

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $65,452 to $75,270 pa + 11.5% super
