The City Planning branch at Blue Mountains City Council has the exciting and challenging responsibility to deliver high quality strategic land use planning for a City within a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty and environmental value, and over twenty-five towns and villages, each with a distinct local character and community. 
Specific responsibilities for the position include development of land use planning strategies and plans, and the monitoring and updating of Council’s local planning framework via the preparation of Planning Proposals etc.

A tertiary degree in planning or related discipline is required. For the senior level, a high-level ability in strategic and / or statutory land use policy and processes, matched by a passion for community engagement and customer service is sought after.

The position is a one-year full-time contract with the possibility of extension.
Hours: 5 days per week, 8:30-5:00pm (with fortnightly RDO) A part time workload will be considered on application (minimum 4 days per week, 8:30-5:00pm).

Flexible hours can be negotiated. Hybrid arrangements with a mix of work-from-home and office hours are available.

This position is open to those just establishing their careers as well as those who have experience suitable for a more senior role.

Remuneration: base salary commencing at $100,949 gross per annum
 + 11.5% superannuation
 + performance payment 1% - 3.5% annual salary 
 + annual award increase
