Join the Roads and Drainage team at RVC

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure in the areas of roads, drainage, footpaths, signage and pavement markings in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Undertake general labouring duties in the construction, maintenance and repair of roads and drainage infrastructure, footpaths, signage and pavement markings.
  • Read, interpret and setup Traffic Control Plans (TCP’s) and assist with the provision of traffic control services to ensure the safety of all workers and members of the community.
  • Read and interpret basic construction plans, set out works from reference points fixed by others and carry out ongoing checks of accuracy.
  • Assist in the delivery of concrete works including the pouring, placement and finishing of concrete.
  • Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture within the team to ensure a safe workplace for our people by ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans and any other documentation required for the successful delivery of works. 

About You

We are looking for a motivated individual with a positive attitude and a safety-first focus. Someone who has - 

  • Construction or trade labouring experience
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class MR Driver Licence
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller 

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $53,180 to $61,157 pa + 11.5% super
