  • Band 7 - Salary Range $106,626 to $119,182 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

The Opportunity

Are you seeking a fulfilling role where you can apply your expertise? We are recruiting for the Integrated Water Management (IWM) Officer position. Reporting to the Coordinator Sustainability and Climate Action, this role will spearhead the advancement and execution of critical projects and strategies, including the Integrated Water Management & Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) Framework. The objective is to guide Council and the Community towards sustainable water practices that align with regional water strategies and contribute to urban resilience.

We are looking for an individual who redefines water management, communicates the benefits of integrated water solutions effectively, establishes productive relationships swiftly, and embraces new opportunities within a growing Council. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the development and implementation of the Integrated Water Management & WSUD Framework.
  • Cultivate a collaborative culture within the organisation that fosters staff growth and understanding of sustainable water management practices.
  • Coordinate the formulation and implementation of key strategies, policies, and guidelines related to integrated water management and water sensitive urban design, aiming to enhance Council and community outcomes amidst climate challenges and urban growth.
  • Provide technical guidance on water management services and opportunities for best practices in water sensitive urban design for Council projects, precinct plans, development proposals, and planning applications.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering, Urban Design, Environmental Science or equivalent with several years of subsequent relevant experience or higher formal qualifications either in the field of specialist expertise or in management, together with a shorter period of experience, alternatively lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of IWM/WSUD principles and practice, including within the public realm.
  • Proven track record in project management, including scoping, planning and budgeting.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
