Development Engineer

Full Time Permanent Position

Band 6 - Salary Range $95,073 to $103,531 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

A new opportunity has risen for an experienced and self-motivated Development Engineer within Engineering Development team of City Infrastructure Planning Unit. The position of the Development Engineer reports to the Coordinator Engineering and Landscape Development.

The Development Engineer will play a significant role in assessing developers funded land development projects to ensure works are designed to Council satisfaction, best industry practices and relevant Australian Standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and approval of road and drainage Engineering plans and other strategic documents submitted for approval for staged subdivision projects.
• Evaluation and implementation of engineering aspects of Integrated Water Management systems as part of subdivision projects.
• Assessment of planning applications referred from the Planning Department in relation to subdivision and development projects.
• Attendance in the construction Pre-commencement and Practical Completion inspections and other key inspections where required.
• Liaise with Council Construction Supervisors and consultants regarding civil engineering design matters raised at the construction phase.

About you
 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Relevant experience in urban development and engineering design activities.
• Versed in using software solutions related to the role – AutoCAD, CIRCLY, MUSIC, PC Convey etc.
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
