Civil Design Engineer

THE POSITION:

Council’s Design section is seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join the team. In this role you will be responsible for the design and documentation of a range of local government assets such as traffic facilities, roads, carparks, footpaths, cycleways, stormwater drainage and other public infrastructure. The Civil Design Engineer collaborates with other team members and internal stakeholders to provide well resolved designs and advice.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

The successful candidate must have a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable for professional Membership of Engineer’s Australia and have experience in AutoCAD and design software e.g. Magnet or 12d. Local government experience is desired but not essential.

Applicants must address the following criteria when applying:

• Demonstrated experience in the preparation and review of engineering designs for traffic facilities, roads, carparks, footpaths, cycleways, stormwater drainage and other public infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in the provision of engineering advice on technical matters to senior staff and other stakeholders.
• New South Wales Drivers Licence Class 1C (Motor Car).

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

• Permanent position, 35 hours per week.
• This position is a Grade 6. The salary range is from $89,415 p.a. to $96,289 p.a. dependent on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $104,738 p.a. In addition to salary, Council pays 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance plus 11% Super.
