As a Casual Child Care Caterer you will have an opportunity to put your passion for nutritious food to great use looking after the development of growing children. You will have the children’s best interests at heart and facilitate respectful relationships both with colleagues and parents as you deliver delicious, varied and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

Successful applicants will be employed on a casual day-to-day basis and could be working at any of our Child Centres across the Coast from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.30 am to 1.30pm.

Our Casuals have a great opportunity to get to know all of our teams from Umina to Northlakes, and enjoy variety in their tasks, teams and days and times worked.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Key activities of this role include:

  • Provide meals which reflect children’s like/dislikes, individual dietary requirements, allergies and suitable food based on the developmental level of the children;
  • Prepare meals in accordance with the planned menu ensuring nutritional guidelines are met as recommended by the NSW Health Department for all children in care;
  • Champion and maintain the health, hygiene and safety standards of kitchen utensils and equipment according to statutory regulations.

About You:

  • Ideally holding a TAFE Certificate of Attainment in Food Hygiene, you have solid recent experience in a similar role catering for large groups;
  • You have a Safe Food Handling Certificate along with a current valid Working with Children Check Clearance;
  • You are adaptable and self motivated, bringing a positive and organised approach to your work, and you enjoy being part of a lively team environment;
  • Having a work/life balance is important to you.
