Heidelberg Materials is seeking to appoint a Quarry Materials Technician at their NATA Accredited Laboratory located in Farleigh Quarry in Mackay. The successful candidate will fill an important role of testing aggregates both in the laboratory and in the field.
We are seeking a self-motivated candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who is physically fit and possesses a strong work ethic. The successful applicant will have an impeccable customer focus and be highly motivated and enthusiastic, risk-aware and safety-driven. In your new role, you will: Perform aggregate field sampling in the quarry and perform testing in the on-site laboratory. Carry out equipment calibrations, daily checks and routines to maintain laboratory NATA requirements. Work alongside internal stakeholders and provide technical support for their operations. Daily use of computers and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) including excel, Outlook etc. This position is a full-time permanent role, working 50-55 hours per week including occasional Saturday work when necessary. Receive a competitive hourly rate including penalty rates (rate x 1.5 after 8 hours, rate x 2 after 10 hours).
This role is a great fit for you, if you have: Previous testing experience in aggregates (AS1289 & TMRQ methods).
