Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to assist in enhancing the quality and governance of our Treatment Plant asset data, while supporting the planning and documentation of critical infrastructure renewal projects as a Casual Technical Officer - Treatment.
This role is essential in ensuring the sustainable governance of Council’s Water and Wastewater infrastructure. You will support the accurate collection, maintenance, and analysis of treatment plant asset data to guide infrastructure renewal works aligned with our 10-year Long Term Financial Plan. You’ll be instrumental in supporting the delivery of capital projects by helping define project scopes, service locations, and technical requirements.
This role also involves infield inspections that may require working at heights and undertaking physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing and manual handling in treatment plant environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Collect, update and administer asset data through collaboration with operators, maintenance teams, and infield inspections.
• Identify and document assets for remediation, considering broader infrastructure impacts and prioritisation strategies.
• Conduct asset condition inspections and validation checks across multiple treatment plant facilities.
• Undertake compliance assessments of treatment process infrastructure.
• Support cost estimation and scoping of water and wastewater treatment renewal and upgrade projects.
• Assist with planning and maintaining the data necessary for operational and capital forecasting.
Essential
• IPWEA Professional Certificate in Asset Management Planning or with relevant work experience within a treatment infrastructure and process capacity, OR a minimum 5 years’ experience in review of technical documentation and practical experience with Water and Sewage Treatment assets
• Technical knowledge and understanding of water and sewage infrastructure including familiarity with Australian Standards and/or operating procedures Treatment assets
• Ability to determine condition states for a wide array of Treatment assets and related knowledge of assessment and investigation methods/technologies for evaluating asset condition and performance
• Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic work environment, with the ability to make sound recommendations and decisions
• C Class “Manual” Drivers Licence
• Construction Safety Industry Card (White Card)
