Reporting to the Workshop Manager this apprentice position will perform the duties of assisting in the mechanical workshop while undertaking a (4) year Diesel Fitter Motor Mechanic apprenticeship.
The individual we are seeking will be professional and a team player whilst working proactively in a busy work environment.
Ideally, the successful applicant will have: -
• High School Senior Certificate.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.
• Sound communication skills.
• Mature, positive attitude, good interpersonal skills and ability to Interact positively with public and other Council Staff.
• Ability to follows instructions.
• Knowledge of mechanical repairs and maintenance techniques (desirable).
• Ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
