About the Opportunity

Council is seeking a Plant Operator who will be responsible for undertaking maintenance and construction duties through the skilled operation of Council's plant fleet, in particular a Roller.

This position is based in Tara.

Reporting to the Works Supervisor, you will:

  • Servicing minor repairs and pre-start inspection of various types of earthmoving equipment;
  • Operation of various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and equipment in Construction and Maintenance Works;
  • Operating various civil construction plant to the required tolerances with due regard to the presence of services.

About yourself

A person in this position will need to have knowledge and experience in various aspects of civil construction and maintenance works OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have;

  • knowledge of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and its application.
  • Current C Class Driver's Licence (mandatory) OR HR licence (desirable)
  • Work Health and Safety Construction Induction White Card.
