We are currently seeking applications to fill the position of Labourer in the Works section. The primary function of this position will be to assist with undertaking roadside herbicide spraying which involves the operation of a motor vehicle for extended periods of time. Other functions of this position include the construction and maintenance of roads, footpaths, drainage structures, boats ramps and other Council infrastructure.

About the role

This position involves assisting work team members with the construction and maintenance of Council Roads and Drainage. These duties extend to assisting with the management and control of weeds within the Burdekin Shire including, but not restricted to, vegetation control on Council assets and TMR controlled roads. The successful candidate will be required to participate in and conduct risk assessments prior to commencement of work on job sites. This position involves the safe operation of small plant and equipment and will require the Labourer to assist in maintenance.
