The Role

As Tree Establishment Officer you will continue to develop and enhance the City’s urban forest and tree inventory in line with the Greening Greater Bendigo 2020-2070 strategy.

Through this role you will be required to:

  • Execute the coordination and supervision of tasks relating to delivery of the City’s annual tree planting program.
  • Provide support to the City’s internal tree planting team as well as external contractors undertaking tree planting, maintenance, and establishment within subdivisions and capital projects.
  • Contribute specialist arboricultural/horticultural knowledge to City projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of newly planted City and subdivision trees.
  • Ensure operational programs are being conducted to the highest possible standard and in accordance with industry best practice and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

About You

As the successful candidate you will have experience with the relevant arboriculture related Australian Standards and a thorough understanding of AS2303 Tree Stock for Landscape Use. 

Best industry practice relevant to modern Arboriculture and urban forestry is essential together with strong tree identification knowledge, including an understanding of species’ suitability and performance.
