Our vision is: Greater Bendigo celebrates our diverse community. We are welcoming, sustainable and prosperous. Walking hand-in-hand with the Traditional Custodians of this land. Building on our rich heritage for a bright and happy future.

Located in Central Victoria, Greater Bendigos population is approximately 120,000 and is predicted to reach about 155,000 by 2036. Greater Bendigo consists of an urban area and many rural small towns and villages, all of which contribute to our strong sense of community and provide residents with a great lifestyle alternative. We boast the nationally significant Bendigo Art Gallery, Ulumbarra and The Capital theatres, have natural surrounds that provide great recreation opportunities and host a number of major events and festivals. As a City of Gastronomy, we have many restaurants, cafes, wineries and local produce. LaTrobe University, Bendigo TAFE, government and non government school options are available.

At the City of Greater Bendigo we offer career opportunities to people who want to make a difference. We’re dedicated to creating a work environment that supports staff to achieve their professional and personal aspirations. We encourage learning and development opportunities and offer leadership skills and training.

We are a proactive and dynamic employer, delivering over 65 services to our community. We are an equal opportunity employer, supportive of flexible working arrangements including remote working, part time and rostered days off and encourage applications from people with diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people of all abilities.

A set of values and behaviours describe how staff work together to achieve the objectives of various strategic plans, and a shared commitment to the values and behaviours also contributes to a positive workplace culture.
