Based in Baldivis, the Millar Road Landfill and Recycling Facility is a Class III landfill that offers the general public and commercial customers the opportunity to responsibly dispose and recycle their waste.

You will be providing exceptional operational leadership, direction, development, mentoring and support for the Waste Collection Services and Landfill Services Teams.

Focussed on managing the delivery of high quality and cost effective waste management services including the management of the City’s FOGO, recycling, green waste and bulk verge waste collection contracts to ensure compliance with all statutory and environmental regulations and Licence requirements.

You will manage landfill operational contracts including landfill gas, recycling and green waste processing.

In conjunction with the Manager Waste Services you will prepare business plans, team plans, budget reviews, financial reporting relating to the Millar Road Landfill facility, and also maintain plans for future development of the facility. You will manage projects including obtaining works approvals when required, drafting of tender specifications and contract management to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

In this role you will apply your extensive experience in managing a waste facility at a senior level, and proven experience in landfill compliance and regulations. You possess formal qualifications in civil engineering and/or waste management or other relevant subject, and have a proven track record of successfully applying your extensive management, communication, interpersonal, report writing and contract management skills in your day-to-day roles. Able to manage multiple tasks and functions simultaneously by applying your well-developed time management skills, you also have a sound knowledge of sanitary landfill operations methodology and operations. A current and valid ‘C’ Class driver’s licence is essential for this role.

A negotiated salary commensurate with skills and experience is being offered, and:
