Labourer / Waste Management Operator (Fixed Term Contract)

Cook Shire Council is seeking to recruit a dedicated individual to join the Waste Management Team on a fixed term basis.

Based at the Cooktown Waste Transfer Station, this role will operate automatously under the guidance of the Waste Management Coordinator with responsibility for executing the necessary tasks to deliver efficient waste management operations across the Shire.

The Role:

• Plant operation.
• Kerbside collection.
• Site office operations.
• General labouring.

About You:

• HR Licence.
• Certificate of Competency for Skid Steer Excavator.
• Hard working and reliable.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour.
• Works well in a small team environment.
• Proactive toward work health and safety.
