  • Band 8 - Salary Range $123,831 to $138,629 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO
  • Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

Within the City Delivery portfolio, you will be joining the Engineering and Asset Services unit and reporting to the manager. You will provide functional leadership and manage the activities of Traffic and Transport team in delivering traffic management services for Melton City Council ensuring traffic, road safety and transport management issues throughout the municipality are addressed in a professional, timely and accurate manner.

 You will ensure these services are provided within budget and comply with relevant statutory obligations, regulations, codes, guidelines and Council policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the Traffic and Transport Team.
  • Investigate customer requests and develop and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practice, Council policy and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate Traffic and Transport investigations, prepare recommendations and reports for Executive and Council consideration.
  • Liaise with Government departments including Vic Roads, Transport for Victoria, Public Transport Victoria, Emergency Services, Police and other statutory authorities and organisations in relation to traffic and transportation matters.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent with further formal qualifications in the field of expertise or in management.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of traffic and transport engineering projects from concept stage to approved project, including stakeholder consultation.
  • Experience in application of computer software programs including the Microsoft office suite, Autocad, GIS systems and traffic modelling software.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
