$109,531 to $115,921 per annum

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists within our Financial Services Department for an Asset Accountant / Coordinator Asset Management.  In this role, you will be responsible for the development and management of Council’s financial assets systems in partnership with Asset Managers.  You will provide quality financial information and specialist advice in accordance with Accounting Standards, to ensure Council’s strategic asset management and financial direction is maintained.  You will also be a key stakeholder in the implementation of a new ERP system and have the opportunity to help drive Council’s recently adopted Asset Management Strategy by assisting in the improvement of asset management maturity across the organisation. This gives you the ability to make this role your own.

Essential

1. Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting or other relevant discipline
2. Demonstrated technical experience and understanding of Financial Accounting and Asset Accounting
3. Demonstrated analytical and research skills including extraction, collation and analysis of data and information to present in a concise and meaningful manner
4. Demonstrated high level computer literacy, with advanced knowledge in financial systems and Microsoft suite of programs.
5. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills including the ability to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels
6. C Class Drivers Licence

Desirable

1. Membership as a CPA or Chartered Accountant
2. Demonstrated leadership experience managing a team to enhance employee satisfaction and drive continuous improvement
3. Previous Local Government experience
