The Day to Day

As a Waste Transfer Attendant, you will be responsible for assisting the Armidale community with essential waste services while providing excellent customer service.

When we say this role offers a heap of variety, we mean it! One day you might be working in the waste transfer station, the next assisting at landfill. You will get the chance to work in the community recycling center, City to
Soil, Gatehouse and our popular Tip Shop. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of all aspects of our Waste Management program.
Use your experience with front-end loaders, excavators and forklifts to carry out general maintenance and tasks around the Waste Management Facility.

We will also enroll and support you through a Certificate III in Waste Management.

We have opportunities for full-time and casual positions.

About you

You will be able to think on your feet and make proactive and independent decisions. You will frequently operate the Rural waste facilities unsupervised and will need to work independently to solve problems that may arise.

You will showcase your excellent customer service skills and work efficiently as a team ensuring effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience working with plant such as front-end loaders, forklifts and excavators would be advantageous.

Working in this role, safety is paramount. You will come to work with a ‘can do’ attitude and a preparedness to ‘walk the talk’.
