Team Leader - Water Network Construction

The role & you

MidCoast Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Leader for our Water Network Construction team within the Infrastructure & Engineering Services Division. In this role, you will ensure that all water and sewer infrastructure is installed, tested, and commissioned to the highest standards. 

As the Team Leader, you will be responsible for maintaining rigorous safety, quality, and environmental standards in all team activities whilst ensuring compliance with the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) codes of construction. You will lead site investigations to identify potential risks and develop solutions for pipework renewals. You will also be responsible for organising, prioritising and monitoring of the work flow of the team on projects to enable delivery in a timely and effective manner. This includes ensuring adequate resources (including Sub-contractors), materials including procurement as necessary, plant and equipment are available for each project.

As a main function of this role,  you will have a in depth understanding of the knowledge and physical abilities involved in pipelaying and the under taking of a range of critical tasks to ensure successful pipeline installations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Certificate III in Plumbing or have extensive experience in water and sewerage infrastructure construction and pipe laying. This role requires a deep understanding of water systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair of pipes and fittings.

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)

Salary: Commencing salary package range circa $69,000 to $76,000 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.)  

An allowance of $133.61 per week will also apply. (Water Allowance)

Location: Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council Tuncurry Depot located at Grey Gum Road, Tuncurry. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region. 

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
