About the role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and security of the Kincumber Sewer Treatment Plant within the Central Coast region. Along with leading a team of 7 employees in daily operations taking into consideration compliance and regulatory requirements, you will also coordinate the response to manage any treatment plant process exceptions/equipment failure and /or unusual events in a timely manner. 

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Certificate III qualification in Water Operations (Water Treatment / Wastewater Treatment) or related field OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development.
  • Current Construction General Induction Card – NSW SafeWork or equivalent
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Confined Spaces Certification
  • Current Statement of Attainment in Work Safely at Heights
  • Statement of Attainment in Operate and Control Liquefied Chlorine Gas Disinfection
  • Proficient in swimming to perform self-rescue
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to provide technical support to operators to resolve problems. This requires the application of specialised knowledge and skills relevant to the various treatment processes and facilities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the legislative, technical and operational aspects or treating water in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position sits between $85k- $103k plus 11.5% superannuation
  • This is a Permanent full-time.
  • This role will be able to access a 9 day fortnight
  • This role is located at the Kincumber Sewer Treatment Plant
  • Successful candidates will be required to have vaccinations against Hepatitis A and B and Tetanus.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to undertake and pass a Confined Spaces medical.

Council will be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
