We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineer to join the Infrastructure Development team and play a key role in the planning and design of vital drainage/stormwater infrastructure across the Cairns region. This key role will work as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, providing exceptional service delivery to a diverse portfolio of stakeholders and making
significant contributions to the success of the team and of the wider organisation.

What You’ll Do:

As Engineer – Infrastructure Development, you will be principally responsible, as part of a multi-discipline team, for providing engineering expertise into the design, analysis, construction and regulatory approvals for drainage/stormwater assets across the Cairns Local Government area.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline, with demonstrated experience specific to drainage/stormwater discipline.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of hydraulic design and supporting hydraulic reporting, with an ability interrogate and analyse, to ensure fit for purpose outcomes.
• Excellent oral, written and communication skills, including, but not limited to:
o Experience in negotiations and liaison with a diverse client base.
o Experience in the preparation of high-quality written submissions, reports, recommendations and other required correspondence.
o Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams.
o Have a good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical traffic and transport solutions.
