Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent full-time role of Library Programs Officer.
This role is vital in connecting Library visitors with information, literacy, end-user technology, and lifelong learning by delivering exceptional customer programs and library services. Reporting directly to the Library Coordinator, this position concentrates on Library program delivery and outreach.
Job Description
The Programs Officer is responsible for developing and implementing innovative programs that respond to community needs and aspirations.
We seek an energetic, highly motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. The successful candidate will work effectively in a team and independently as required and liaise and network with community groups.
The library currently operates 6 days a week with staff working hours between 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on weekdays and 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturdays. You will be required to work rostered shifts within Library operational hours. Penalty rates apply for weekend work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award.

• Working knowledge of new technologies, current trends in Library programs and industry best practice regarding web-based resources and social media applications.
• Experience with the Libero Library Management System.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
