This role is crucial in ensuring efficient and effective management of information technology assets within Bundaberg Regional Council. This role involves overseeing the business processes as part of a broader team for acquisition, deployment, utilisation, and disposal of IT assets to support the department's financial requirements and operational objectives.

About The Opportunity

As the Information Services Asset Management Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of IT asset management for Bundaberg Regional Council, ensuring efficient and effective lifecycle management of information technology assets, from acquisition, deployment, utilisation through to secure disposal. You will expertly manage technology hardware assets, software assets and licences, and information assets including developing a detailed inventory, and developing and implementing robust tracking systems.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in IT asset management or IT procurement related roles
  • Detailed understanding of IT procurement processes, contract negotiation and vendor management
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT asset management tools, ITIL framework and IT asset management good practice
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, hardware, software and licencing models
  • Strong research, analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organisation
