About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Lead Estate Management Program manager, as the Design Manager - Source Protection, you will be responsible for managing the design of projects to support the Natural Asset Program in the areas of source protection, catchment management, land management and recreation, including waterway erosion and sediment control projects, land condition improvement projects including agricultural improvements, revegetation and offset projects, and recreation area upgrades/refurbishments including wastewater.

You will provide expert planning and design advice, develop planning documentation and scopes of services, and work with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including managing external consultants and contractors throughout the full project lifecycle or gateway process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead development of planning documentation for projects within the Natural Asset Program, while working collaboratively with planners and project managers within the project Team. Types of projects include waterway erosion and sediment control, land management including agricultural improvements, revegetation and offsets, and recreational areas, including wastewater.
  • Develop Scope of Works and Services documentation to engage external design consultants and other service providers as required through the project planning and delivery phases.
  • Manage consultants and contractors through options development, detailed design, construction, monitoring, and benefits realisation stages of the project, attending meetings and site as required with the Project Team or other stakeholders.

Hours and Locations

This is a diverse role with projects varying across environmental engineering/science, and catchment management areas, and offers a great mix of both office and field work.

This role will take you all over South-East Queensland to Seqwater's recreation areas, catchment lands, and onto private land bordering key waterways in Seqwater's water supply catchments.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline.
  • Significant demonstrated experience particularly within the water industry on projects of a similar scope and value as outlined above.
  • Experience in planning and delivery of catchment management or natural resource management projects.
  • Experience in a design management role managing multiple projects up to $5+ Million per project.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical design development and management of projects such as erosion and sediment control, land condition improvement projects including agricultural improvements, revegetation and offset projects, and recreational area upgrades including wastewater systems.

This position has a salary range of $132,746 - $145,422 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.

This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full time role.
