About the Opportunity

The Co-ordinator Facilities Strategic Planning is responsible for leading and managing the strategic planning for Council's facilities. The role encompasses leadership and management of strategic planning for facility assets, developing and renewing associated high level strategic documents to guide asset investment, governance, and management policies and processes.

This position can be based at any of our regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara or Wandoan), and is full time, fixed term until 30 June 2025.

You will be:

  • Leading and managing the facilities asset management strategic planning processes across all department areas, fostering and maintaining strategic relationships within and outside of the Western Downs Region;
  • Leading innovation, process improvements and change management for the department in a complex operational environment through use of consultative methodologies, embedded relationship management, continuous improvement, and best practice approaches;
  • Navigating community stakeholder engagement and negotiations, including face to face meetings across the region, conflict resolution, change management, community and user group relationship management, and preparation of targeted media communications on behalf of Council;
  • Mentoring and coaching, demonstrating and driving accountability to achieve a high level of performance.

This role is full time, working 36.25 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.

About yourself

Suitability for this position will be based on experience, application, achievement, and potential in the following critical competencies as they link to the key responsibilities for this position.

Proven/Demonstrated experience in:

  • High level of advanced strategic planning and resource management skills, internal and external stakeholder engagement, innovation, change management, and process improvement skills;
  • High level of knowledge and experience in designing and implementing strategic design processes, conceptualisation, economic, cultural and social impact analyses, and project design processes;
  • High level interpersonal skills which enable good communication with staff and stakeholders at all levels, resolve conflict, build relationships, and clearly communicate objectives and requirements;
  • Financial management experience including budget preparation and operating within budget parameters;

Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
