Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the permanent role of Civic Centre Operations and Technical Assistant.
Entering an exciting new phase in event delivery, the Civic Centre is a multi-purpose facility that offers state of the art technology, services and functionality and attracts visiting shows, conferences, meetings and events. The Civic Centre team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the continued growth trend in events in the Broken Hill community.
Reporting directly to the Civic Centre Coordinator you will provide operational and technical support to the Civic Centre and broader organisation to ensure the success of the conferencing, business events, gala dinners, community events and performing arts activities of Council.
Suitable applicants require understanding, competence, knowledge and skills in lifting equipment, stocktaking, bar work, stage production, sound mixing and stage lighting systems, commercial electrical codes, plan and diagrammatic interpretation and lighting. You will have mature and proactive communication skills and be proficient in the use of computer software, be a supportive team member, have a proven ability to independently manage your workflow and take a proactive approach to your work.
As Council facilities are open 7 days per week you may need to be available for work evenings on weekdays and Sunday to Saturday. Penalty rates apply for Saturday and Sunday work as per the Broken Hill City Council Consent Award.
