About the opportunity

We are looking for 2 highly motivated individuals to be part of our Civil Asset Maintenance section on a permanent, full-time basis.

The teams undertake roads and drainage works to meet requirements in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner. You will require a MR licence and a white card.

You will be responsible for undertaking programmed and reactive works in an efficient and cost-effective manner without causing undue delay and inconvenience to the general public.

This role involves driving trucks to and from work sites, maintaining drainage structures, repairing failed road pavements/footpaths, operating minor plants and using hand power and air tools.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in driving trucks in all facets of civil construction/maintenance including cleaning and repair of drainage structures, construction and restoration of road pavements/footpaths and K&G
  • Experience in operating minor plant
  • Sound knowledge of the functions of road and drainage maintenance activities
  • Class MR Licence
  • Appropriate WorkCover Certificates and Licences.

Desirable:

  • Motivated team player and able to demonstrate leadership in decision-making
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • Availability to work overtime as required.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,112.32 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
