Council is currently offering two positions in the Water and Wastewater team in Guyra: one full-time permanent position and one full-time 12-month term position.

This role is a unique opportunity for someone who is looking to try something a little different and is willing to have a crack at anything! As well as water and wastewater treatment operations, you will carry out labouring, machinery and truck operations that are involved in the maintenance and construction of water supply and wastewater network pipes and fittings.

Our ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and a loyal team player who can work safely and efficiently. You will have a positive 'can do' work attitude and not be afraid to get your hands dirty.

The successful person will also be required for a reasonable amount of overtime and to be part of an on-call roster.

About you

Council is focused on developing a strong culture by embedding values of wellbeing, inclusion, commitment and transparency into everything we do. This is at the heart of how we work. The right person for the job is able to live these values, call out others where they aren't, and 'walk the talk'.

We want to hear about you! So, in your application, tell us about...

  • Why do you want to work at Armidale Regional Council?
  • What makes you the best person for the role?
  • Your qualifications and experience relevant to the role.

Please note:

Only the three questions above need to be addressed in your application, however your resume and cover letter will be assessed against the full list of Essential Criteria located within the Position Description attached to this advertisement.

You will also be required to attach PDF copies of your qualifications, tickets &/or accreditations to your application.

Please apply on-line and include a covering letter and a CV. In fact, we also want you to upload a video of yourself (no longer than 3 minutes*) answering the following:

  • Briefly introduce yourself.
  • Tell us about something you are really proud of - work, homelife, sport, a hobby ....
  • Tell us about the BEST day you've had at work, and why.

*Please note only .mov, .mp4, .wmv, and and avi. files are accepted with a size limit of 50mb.

  • Flexible working provisions and a 9-day fortnight
  • Long service leave after 5 years
