Croydon Shire Council is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Tourism Officer to join our Community, Tourism & Marketing team. This is an exciting opportunity to help share Croydon's stories, welcome visitors from across Australia and contribute to the growth of tourism in one of Queensland's most unique Outback destinations. As a Tourism Officer, you will play a key role in promoting Croydon Shire while delivering exceptional visitor experiences from the True Blue Visitor Information Centre and Heritage Precinct. Working across tourism operations, visitor services, marketing and events, you'll assist with promoting local attractions, creating engaging content, supporting heritage experiences and helping deliver initiatives that grow tourism and strengthen the local economy.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver outstanding visitor information and customer service
• Promote Croydon through marketing and tourism initiatives
• Support events, heritage attractions and visitor experiences
• Create engaging social media and digital content
• Assist with tourism administration and promotional activities
Skills & Experience Required
• Passion for tourism and regional communities
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong organisational and administrative abilities
• Experience using Microsoft Office 365
• Experience with social media, photography or digital content creation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Qualifications or experience in Tourism, Marketing, Events or Business (highly regarded)
What We Offer
Croydon Shire Council offers a competitive remuneration package recognising the unique benefits of working and living in remote Queensland.
The total remuneration package is valued at approximately $85,000 per annum and includes:
• Base salary from approximately $67,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience)
• 12% superannuation
• 17.5% leave loading on five weeks of paid annual leave

• Relocation assistance of up to $3,000
