The role

CBCity have an opportunity for a waste and cleansing industry professional with exceptional safety standards to join our Waste and Cleansing Unit as a Side Loader Operator. You will operate a Side Loader heavy vehicle to perform day-to-day operational requirements as directed by Team Leaders in a thorough, professional and safe manner that will meet contractual requirements.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Operation of plant and equipment associated with waste and street cleaning activities including but not limited to Side Loader waste vehicles and hand-held equipment.
  • Domestic, commercial and public bin collection in line with service guidelines, as well as removal of dumped rubbish.
  • Daily maintenance of plant to ensure safe and efficient operation (i.e. fuelling, checking fluids, oils, coolant etc) and reporting on all maintenance issues.
  • Maintain all day to day documentation in a neat, accurate and timely manner (i.e. break down books, work and rest hour records etc)
  • Perform and fill out pre and post check list daily.
  • Comply with the requirements of the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Regulations, including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) provisions and any other relevant Road Transport and Road Rule legislation in force.

You will have:

  • Current HR class drivers’ licence.
  • Previous experience driving side loaders.
  • Knowledge and experience in the operations of waste and street cleansing activities and in equipment used to perform such activities.
  • High safety standard and compliance with all WHS procedures.
  • Traffic control certification and/or forklift licence is desirable however not essential.

The salary for this opportunity is $3,229 per fortnight (Grade E, Step 4) + AWCA2 + 11.5% super.
