We are seeking to fill multiple Professional Driver positions with highly experienced and motivated drivers on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an opportunity to advance your skills, build a stable career, and achieve a fulfilling work-life balance.

As a Waste Services Driver, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality waste management services with duties including:

  • Safely operating Council vehicles equipped with modern Telematics systems
  • Collecting residential and commercial waste and maintaining bin infrastructure
  • Reporting operational issues and maintaining daily run sheets
  • Working collaboratively with the Waste Services leadership team.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Customer service experience
  • Well-developed communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and unsupervised
  • Ability to locate properties using systems such as Google Maps, TechOne, Telematics, Global Positioning System (GPS), directions and signage
  • Current class HR driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field
  • Previous experience in using Telematics systems and Global Positioning systems (GPS).

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • An attractive remuneration package inclusive of favourable working conditions will be offered to the successful candidate
  • 38-hour working week, plus an additional compulsory 1 hour overtime per day
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every month
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
