Plant Operator/Park Worker

Permanent Full Time position

Salary: $57,511 per annum to $64,137 per annum (based on 76 hours per fortnight) plus superannuation and a nine day fortnight

Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience

Your new role is responsible for assisting in undertaking service tasks in the Parks Assets Unit.

Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

This role assists in the maintenance of Councils parks, reserves and sports grounds for the safety and enjoyment of others. Some duties of the position include;

· Operating Councils Vehicles, including tractors, as required
· Completing administration and paperwork as required relating to vehicles efficiently and effectively
· Undertaking effective use of and care and maintenance of resources, including but not limited to, plant and equipment, tools and materials in a safe and efficient manner.

About you

You'll need the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines. Good physical fitness is important to carry out manual labouring tasks.

A high standard of service is needed to take on a variety of internal and external demands, as well as good listening and communication skills.

The position works in an outdoor environment under varying weather conditions throughout various sites within Hornsby Shire.
