The Opportunity
The Network Operator is responsible for undertaking construction and
maintenance activities on Councils water and sewer infrastructure through
the skilled operation of trucks and machinery, along with general labouring
duties as required.
This role encompasses a range of duties and responsibilities which may vary
as directed by Council. The key ones include:

 Operating various types of trucks, plant and machinery, primarily
Medium Rigid trucks;
 Operating various types of mechanical or electrical hand tools and
equipment in construction and maintenance works;
 Participating in standby roster for afterhours work;
 Undertaking routine maintenance of assigned equipment;
 Undertaking traffic control duties as directed;


About Yourself
Suitability for this position will be based on experience, application,
achievement, and potential in the following critical competencies as they link
to the key responsibilities for this position.
Proven/Demonstrated experience in:


 Ability to proactively identify, report and effectively address any
workplace health and safety hazards/issues;
 Ability to read, write and perform basic numerical calculations to a
standard proportionate with the duties involved in the position; and
 Servicing, minor repairs and prestart inspection of various types of
earthmoving equipment.
