About the Materials Solution Specialist - Aggregates Role: Working to support the Technical Manager – Aggregates, to ensure that Territory Sales Managers and Production Teams are supported in providing value to customers.
This role is an amazing opportunity to learn new skills by working with an industry expert. There is an exciting opportunity over the next few years to be involved in building significant new infrastructure that will support the ability of SE Qld to support the Olympic Games, including in the development of the Coomera Connector. Heidelberg Materials is uniquely situated to support this infrastructure development from its Nerang and Wolffdene quarries. Together with the Technical Manager for the Aggregates product stream, these are the different aspects of the role: Customer Relationships: Working closely with Territory Sales Managers to develop strong customer relationships by providing technical advice, product innovation, solutions to challenges, and technical training to their staff. Liaison and Reviews: Regularly liaise with Territory Sales Managers and customers before, during, and after projects, and attend post-project reviews with relevant stakeholders.
Promotion of Technical Capabilities: Proactively promote technical capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders. Training: Although training is provided to internal and external parties, the focus for this role will be learning through doing. Collaboration: Effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production managers, Territory Sales Managers, and Customer Service. Product Specifications and Audits: Assist production staff in ensuring products meet specifications and lot control processes are effective – this will be a key focus for this role and is an important aspect of supporting the Technical Manager - Aggregates. Process Improvements: Continually look for and implement process improvements in all systems and processes, ensuring internal and external customers are informed of data and trends in quality.
Customer Communication: Provide timely information to customers whenever product or process changes occur, address product performance issues, and resolve concerns within agreed time constraints. Raw Material Monitoring: Monitor raw material performance and consistency and report any non-conformances. Compliance and Registrations: Ensure that ITPs are up to date and compliance is maintained and ensure that quarry registrations with TMR are maintained. Professional Development: Actively participate in continual professional development activities, such as attending relevant training events and seminars. Background and Experience required: A degree or diploma (e.g. Civil/ Materials Engineering, Chemistry/Geology Science) or Aggregate/ Concrete Technology, or the equivalent industry experience. Some experience in providing customer support within a product quality environment would be well regarded, as would some exposure to soils/ aggregate technology and quarries, but this is not essential.
