Wollondilly Shire Council is experiencing tremendous growth and an opportunity exists for an experienced leader to manage Council’s Property and Commercial Team.

This exciting management role will lead our Property and Commercial team in providing exceptional customer service and quality property services to our community. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible in providing leadership, expert advice and strategic direction to the Property and Commercial team in the management and coordination for various properties within the Shire.

Selection Criteria - Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualifications in relevant field or similar, such areas as property management, business management, contracts management or other relevant fields.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience and skills in managing a commercial property portfolio and/or commercial activities with proven results, including business plan development, building and land sales/purchases, property valuations and lease and licence management.
  • Extensive experience in building strong trusting relationships with internal and external customers and a willingness to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in creating an organisational culture which embraces high quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and significant demonstrated experience with gathering information and evidence, critically analysing information and exercising sound judgement to solve complex problems and make sound decisions.
  • Manages project finances effectively, including budget, timely receipting, billing, collection and variance recognition.
  • Class C Drivers Licence

Desirable Requirements

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of local government.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, Local Government Act; Retail Leases Act; Crown Land Management Act; Roads Act, Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation Act); Native Title Act; l planning instruments in the context of Council owned property and property generally in NSW.
