POSITION OBJECTIVE

This position is to provide a high level of technical and administrative support services to the Development and Land Use section to ensure the delivery of essential services and information to both internal and external clients. This position will provide accurate and timely technical and administrative support in relation to the preparation of correspondence, memorandums, meetings/conferences, minutes, reports and other Development and Land Use functions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration or demonstrated experience in an administrative support officer position.
  • Demonstrated written communication skills including the ability to summarise a document, report and prepare correspondence in an accurate and concise manner
  • Demonstrated sound computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth and QLD Imagery.
  • Experience in interpreting building plans, surveying plans and other forms of regulatory plans.
  • Demonstrated efficient customer service, organisational and time management skills including the ability to work autonomously.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • Consistently prepare correspondence using the correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Research, interpret, and accurately convey correspondence to specific section officer.
  • All assigned tasks are to be completed accurately, professionally and within the specified timeframe set out by the supervisor or legislative requirement.
  • Provides a high level of administrative support within the section.
  • Accurate and efficient filing of all outgoing and internal correspondence generated by the
  • Development & Land Use section.
  • Accurately manage maintain and update of Development and Land Use spreadsheets.
  • Effectively process customer complaints ensuring compliance with Councils Policy and Procedure
  • The ability to work autonomously.
  • High level of customer service carried out in a professional manner being a positive ambassador for Mount Isa City Council.
  • High level of participation and commitment to team outcomes.
  • Consistently meets corporate obligations.
  • Promotes and complies with Council’s policies and procedures
