We are now recruiting for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and customer focused full-time Group Reporting Accountant to join our national accounting team, this role will be based in Parramatta, NSW. Reporting to the Senior Group Reporting Accountant, this role supports the Australian Shared Services Centre (SSC) with the consolidation and reporting of Australian Group financial results to Heidelberg Materials Group in Germany and assists with the preparation of consolidated Australian Statutory financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant financial reporting standards and regulations.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include: Statutory Financial Statements/Annual Financial Report Consolidation & Group Reporting Joint Venture (JV) Reporting Technical Accounting Guidance Mergers and Acquisitions Internal Control and Process Documentation In your new role, you will: Reporting of business unit financial results including disclosure notes to the Heidelberg Materials Australia (HMA) Group through SAP Business Consolidation module. Preparation of consolidated and separate annual statutory financial statements for the HMA Group. Maintain SAP General Ledger for Corporate and Consolidation entities on a monthly basis including preparing and posting monthly journals, accruals and adjustment entries. Complete monthly General Ledger reconciliations. Responsible for the preparation of Intercompany data for Actual, Plan and Forecast reporting including relevant reconciliations. Tax effect accounting and tax true up calculations for legal entity reporting.
Provide technical guidance on accounting matters and mergers & acquisitions. Ownership of the Joint Venture (JV) reporting/consolidation for Actual/Plan/Forecast results and ensuring that underlying financial information is submitted by the JV partners in a timely manner. This includes planning and submission of periodic instructions and templates to facilitate the JV reporting process. Preparation of various reconciliations and analytical reports prior to submission of consolidated Australian results to the Heidelberg Cement Group. Treasury reporting on a monthly basis. Documentation and maintenance of process notes and internal controls. Provide assistance with Internal/external Audit requirements. Assist with ad hoc tasks, projects and process improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 2 years’ Financial Accounting and/or Statutory Reporting experience CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion Bachelor’s degree in accounting/commerce or equivalent post grad qualification Audit/Chartered (Big4) environment experience highly desirable Experience in preparing full set of financial statements desirable Experience in working with SAP ERP (FICO, BI & Consolidation modules) would be an advantage Strong knowledge of Australian Financial Reporting Standards/local GAAP Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Strong MS Excel skills (intermediate to advanced level) Heidelberg Materials is an equal opportunity employer, and we welcome people from all walks of life.
