Ganger (Chinchilla)

About the Opportunity

The Ganger is responsible for providing a high level of support to the Parks and Recreation Supervisor in undertaking a leading role whilst performing construction and maintenance tasks.

This position is located in Chinchilla.

Reporting to the Parks and Recreation Supervisor, you will:

• supervise and mentor Parks and Recreation Horticulture crew and contribute positively to work undertaken by the crew;
• operate plant items, carry out construction and maintain infrastructure and parks assets;
• actively participate in planning and recommending possible ways in which allocated tasks and responsibilities can be carried out more effectively and efficiently;
• uphold the public image of the Council and maintain satisfactory relations and goodwill with the community; and
• undertake general labouring duties as required.

This role is full time, working 38 hours per week with a fortnightly RDO.

About yourself

A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Certificate III in Horticulture, OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have

• Minimum four (4) years industry experience
• Open 'C' class drivers licence (LR is desirable)
• OH&S Construction Safety Induction White/Blue Card
• Relevant Plant Operator tickets are desirable

Mandatory Vaccinations (or a valid and verifiable contraindication) are to be evidenced when requested by Council.
