We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the planning, design, and assessment of vital infrastructure projects that directly impact the Cairns community. 

What You’ll Do: 
As Engineer Development, you will be responsible for delivering engineering expertise, coordinating key development tasks, and ensuring a high level of service and continuous improvement across water, wastewater, and solid waste systems. This is a unique opportunity where your work will support the growth of our region, ensuring the development of efficient, sustainable, and high-quality essential services that benefit the Cairns community.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or relevant discipline, with demonstrated experience specific to the water, wastewater, and/or solid waste environment.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of water, wastewater, and/or solid waste infrastructure.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and Local Government Australian Standards.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills, including, but not limited to:
    • Experience in negotiations and liaison with a diverse client base.
    • Experience in the preparation of high-quality briefings, submissions, reports, recommendations and other required correspondence.
    • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary project teams.
