Permanent Full Time position
Salary: $104,611- $116,755 per annum (based on 35 hrs pw), plus superannuation and a 9-day fortnight
A leaseback vehicle will also be offered.
Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications and experience.
We are seeking an experienced Engineer - Construction (Minor Works) to join our team.
About us
Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.
About the role
In this role, you will plan, manage and supervise minor civil construction projects such as road and drainage upgrades, footpath construction, street lighting improvements and traffic facility upgrades. You will also assist the Crossings Engineer with inspecting and approving vehicular access crossings. Additionally, you will manage contracts, engage consultants, ensure compliance with Council’s specifications, and monitor contractor performance. The role involves maintaining civil works specifications and coordinating resources to deliver high-quality infrastructure projects.
This role offers flexible working hours, some work-from-home options, and the opportunity to participate in the Council’s vehicle lease-back scheme.
About You
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at demonstrated experience in civil construction. Strong project management, tendering, contract administration experience, along with supervising vehicular crossings. You should also be familiar with WHS regulations and have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
