About the Role: Within this role, we are seeking a candidate to provide industrial automation expertise and support to the Operating Units (OU’s) through assistance to the Automation and Industrial Computing Manager.
This role effectively manages the process control system infrastructure through improvement in planning, design, and maintenance. Ensure long term viability and growth of OUs through robust automation development and optimisation of plant and equipment. Implement a consistent approach to process control systems across the business Implement management plans for newly acquired sites where appropriate Review, and audit of existing control systems Work with the operational teams to ensure that the process control system functional descriptions and improvement / optimisation plans are developed through consultation and are understood by the relevant stakeholders Support the Operations Managers to ensure plant and systems are managed in a safe and cost-efficient manner optimizing production Background and Experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) or related industry experience.
Minimum of three years of industrial automation experience, programming PLCs for operational systems Experience with process control systems (physical and virtualised infrastructure). Experience with Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID) and design assurance processes. Experience with application programming according to IEC 61131. Experience with the development of and commitment to, engineering systems, standards, procedures, and quality assurance.tw and reliable electrical systems. Experience in evaluating, selecting, and introducing new technologies. Demonstrable experience or equivalent with industrial automation, programmable logic controllers, SCADA, and HMI Demonstrable experience with specification, design, testing, commissioning, maintenance and vetting of process control systems (physical and virtualised infrastructure) Demonstrable experience with Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID) and design assurance processes.
