We have two positions available to join our team as an Arborist.

Salary: $64,372 per annum to $72,087 per annum plus superannuation (based on 76 hours per fortnight), plus allowances up to $120 per fortnight, and a 9 day fortnight.

Appointed salary in this range will be based on skills, qualifications, and experience.

About us

Hornsby Shire is located on Sydney's upper north shore, approximately 25 kilometres north of the CBD. Known as the ‘Bushland Shire’, our local government area is characterised by bushland comprising national park, major waterways, natural reserves and rural landscape. The rest of the Shire combines urban, rural and open spaces.

About the role

This position is responsible to the Parks and Recreation Service Unit supervisors and exists in order to:

  • Assist in the maintenance of the treescape within Hornsby Shire
  • Ensure that items of plant utilised in a safe and efficient manner
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of plant equipment utilised including Elevated Work Platform, wood chipper and chainsaws
  • Assist in maintaining a safe workplace

A high standard of service and safety is necessary as you will be required to take appropriate action in maintaining the urban treescape throughout the Hornsby local government area. 

About you

To be successful, you will need to have Certificate II/III in arborculture and be-able to work in a team environment. You will have good listening and the ability to maintain a good level of health and fitness to carry out the physical requirements of this role.
